This acrylic primitive by Appalachian artist Gail Murphy depicts the charms of the activities in a small Appalachian town on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This is one of a collection of four of Murphy's Appalachian-themed primitives from the Diamonds' Art Gallery in Southern West Virginia. This work measures 22 ½ x 18 3/4 and is framed in a distressed wooden frame, which is included in the price.
About the Artist
It is said that, Murphy, now deceased, would always paint the bodies of people in her paintings before painting the faces as she had trouble deciding what the faces should look like without the bodies. Murphy's works were juried into The Bronze Look's art collection after careful consideration by 4 jurors, one being the founder of The Bronze Look.
