What People Say
I believe one of the most important points depicted in this book is that exercising can be fun. Piper demonstrated that playing outside and building snowmen is a great way to exercise without knowing it. She also demonstrates that fun exercise can also motivate others to join along, as Piper and Santa did building their snowman family. The message was just as much fun as reading the book. Exercising keeps you in shape, is fun and most of all, contagious! Mrs. Driscoll presented her story in a lighthearted, enthusiastic manner. The illustrations are beautiful and coordinated well with the storyline. This will be a big seller!—Joanne Jaeger Tomblin, First Lady of West Virginia
Colleen Driscoll brilliantly demonstrates how easily exercise can be incorporated into everyday games and activities. Children of all ages will enjoy seeing their favorite Christmas celebrity achieve better physical fitness while having fun. Piper the Elf Trains Santa is marvelously done! —Daniel J. Becker, D.C., M.Ed., C.C.S.P, Exercise Physiologist and Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician
Where does Santa go when he needs help? To the elves, of course! When Santa has the challenge to fit into his red suit in time for his Christmas delivery, Mrs. Santa sends him to his friend, Piper the elf! Piper cleverly disguises Santa’s dreaded exercise sessions by playing with Santa outside. Colleen Driscoll’s whimsical tale shows Santa having so much fun he does not realize he is getting in shape while he plays with his friends! A delightful tale about Santa and his friends, and how Piper helps her friend Santa be healthy, happy, and achieve his fitness goal! Children and adults will identify with Santa, and share his feelings and success any time of year, but especially at Christmas!—Nancy Guth, Ph.D., Supervisor of Literacy and Humanities, Stafford County Public Schools Stafford, VA
